Receive up to 50% Grant to Improve your City Centre Commercial Property with The Building Enhancement Programme.

The Building Enhancement Programme (BEP) is one of a number of core investment programmes happening in Swansea City Centre. It has been established to encourage good quality building façade and shopfront enhancements across the city centre. There is a £3,000,000 budget made up of ERDF money and private sector match funding. BEP Grants are available to owners or occupiers in Swansea City Centre, who would like to improve their commercial properties. Projects can have a BEP grant of up to 50% of the eligible cost of the improvement work and professional fees, but this will be assessed on an individual case by case basis. Items that are eligible for a grant include building facades, roofs, shopfronts, rainwater goods, signage and lighting. The BEP grant might also be extended to include internal work to eligible properties. Internal grants will only apply where a property has benefited from external work, is structurally sound and is currently vacant to be returned back into economic use. Grant will not include fixtures and fittings associated with the end use but will include welfare facilities. The award and level of grant offered is at the discretion of the Joint Venture partners. Please note that an application would be ineligible if the proposed works have commenced or have been announced before a grant has been awarded.
